Education World
Thursday, February 10, 2011
There are currently over 190 separate systems of education in the world. These systems operate over 12,000 institutions of higher education and many more vocational, primary/secondary, adult, and specialized schools. National patterns of educational organization and structure, cultures, and customs vary extensively, and each is governed by unique laws and procedures as well as certain international obligations. Much of the information about national systems can only be obtained from national sources, especially as regards matters that professional educators, parents, and prospective students and teachers need to know about.
